Ambrosia Salon Launches New Eco-Friendly Hair Services

ATLANTA - August 27, 2008 - Leading the eco-initiative for hair salons in Atlanta,
Ambrosia gives eco-savvy Atlantans the option to treat their tresses with non-toxic
products. With an array of eco-friendly shampoos, hair care products, and color
systems, Ambrosia creates a healthy environment for the planet and their clients as
these products do not release toxins into the air or into water runoff.
Ambrosia's respect for the environment is the foundation of the salon's eco-efforts.
With an established recycling program since its conception in 1998, owner Mary Crossman
was always looking for new alternatives to the toxic products traditionally used in hair
salons. "When we found a disposable cup made of corn that was 100% compostable, we knew
if we kept looking we would find the perfect products to match the salon's environmental
values," said Mary.
After years of research, Ambrosia introduced Chromastics Hair Care as the sole coloring
system of the salon, providing clients with excellent, salon-quality results, while conserving
the structural integrity of the hair. Chromastics, created by Master Colorist and former Senior
Manager of Clairol Tom Dispenza, is formulated with sunflower seed extract and soy protein and
contains less than 1% ammonia, eliminating the scalp stinging and skin staining effects associated
with traditional coloring products. The non-toxic nature of the product makes it perfect for pregnant
women and those with allergies or damaged hair.
An eco-friendly haven, free of chemical smells and toxic emissions, Ambrosia was the first in Atlanta
to offer John Masters Organics products and carries the Phyto line of products formulated with carefully
selected plant extracts.
